If you're cold imagine how cold the homeless are?
02-Jul-2010Hi
everyone,
Well we all know how cold it is at the moment and it's because of this I wanted to ask you a
favour.
There's been a lot of media
at the moment about the homeless people who are living on the streets and pretty
much freezing to death (and I've it seen it first hand). It made me think about
how lucky I am and how we go home to our warm houses in our nice warm clothes to
our loved ones and I would really like to to do something to help them.
I know we all have
differing opinions on homeless people and what has led them to be homeless but
I'm asking you to put your opinions aside because just like all of us, surely
they deserve to be warm?
Before you stop
reading, all I'm asking for is a scarf, a pair of socks, a beanie or a
blanket, just something that you don't use anymore, that is sitting in the
bottom of the closet that would normally go in the bin or to the charity places
where inevitably the homeless have to pay for it.
If you could spare any of
the following I would really appreciate and I will personally come and pick it
up from your place and distribute it to the homeless:
1. socks2. beanies
3. scarves
4. blankets
5. flanelette sheets
6. clothes
7. shoes
8. canned food
and anything else you think will keep them warm.
I'm talking to the
Salvation Army in Manly about the best way to distribute these things but
please, a simple pair of woollen socks or a scarf is enough to keep the cold at
bay.
I completely understand if
you have a differing opinion and can't support them, but to those who can and
will.... thank you, just let me know by emailing me at kandrews@shinesales.com.au
